Myanmar promises new round of reforms

Myanmar is to undergo a "second wave of reforms" aimed at boosting its industry and public sectors.

Since taking office last year former general President Thein Sein has overseen a rapid overhaul of the country's economic and political fortunes.

Now he says he wants to loosen state control of key industries such as education, telecommunications and energy.
