The wire leading from the magnetic antenna for my Sirius XM Snap! In-Vehicle Satellite Radio was becoming quite damaged: it was bent and pinched from many incidents of catching the cable between my drivers-side window and the weatherstripping inside my door frame, and a recent incident where my buddy's sunroof grabbed and sucked in the cord made me fear the worst: fraying, tearing or straight cutting / clipping. Luckily the wire was not torn or cut, but still, who knows how long the bent and pinched wire will last at this point? Since SiriusXM is a pay service for which I pay every month, I would not want downtime to go by whereby I am paying for a service that I cannot receive due to a broken XM antenna. Through SiriusXM, an XM antenna costs $30 before shipping. Before committing to this price, I instead paid a visit to eBay, and found a brand new original equipment manufacturers (OEM) version for a grand total of $12. Not only does it function just as well (if not better) than my original XM antenna, but my cable length is TWICE as long (272 inches versus 134 inches).

IMPORTANT: if you are researching an XM antenna on eBay, do NOT list your XM satellite radio's unit's make or model. Simply search 'XM antenna', sort by 'Buy It Now' and 'Price - Lowest to Highest' and ensure that the antenna and connector shown in the images resemble the antenna that you intend to replace (most XM antennas use the same connector and are cross-compatible with each other, such as those that come with Delphi units.) Also note however, that Sirius satellite radio antennas are NOT cross compatible with XM satellite radios.
