Sarasota Longboat Key

Longboat Key is Sarasota's northernmost Key, and actually stretches right out of Sarasota County into neighboring Manatee. Longboat is known as an upscale resort island, with the same famous Sarasota beaches. However, Longboat also has very little public beach access points, as the beaches are primarily flanked by private resort communities that are often gated. The hallmark property on the island is the Longboat Key Club, which like the rest of the Key offers a range of residential options; Longboat is also known for its extensive golfing and tennis opportunities. Longboat Key is furthest removed from Sarasota downtown, but does have its own infrastructure, shopping and dining, and Longboat Village. For the most part, residential homes line the Bay side of Longboat, while condos stretch along the Gulf beaches, and canals and bay front communities offer the boater a variety of terrific options.
