China warns U.S. ‘not afraid to fight’ over tariffs

China's Foreign Ministry has urged the U.S. to cease its ‘maximum pressure’ tactics and engage in equitable dialogue amid escalating trade tensions.

Spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that while China does not seek conflict, it is prepared to defend its interests. This statement follows China's recent increase of tariffs on U.S. goods to 125% in response to the U.S. raising tariffs on Chinese imports to 145%.
