玻璃市水利灌溉局主任阿米尔布迪曼说，当超过正常水位，玻州蒂玛打苏水坝就会适当地排放水量，让水流往22公里的西部排水绕道后直接流向大海，途中不会再经过玻璃市河（Sungai Perlis），成功减缓州内尤其是加央区发生闪电水灾的机率。
