India Elections 2024: When is it and how does it work?

Recently, the Election Commission of India announced that India will hold a seven-phase general election starting from April 19th and ending on June 1st. The results will be announced on June 4th.With nearly 970 million eligible voters - a drastic increase of 150 million people from India’s 2019 election - people will be rushing to the polls to cast their vote over the course of the six-week period.
