Baltimore Bridge Collapse Following Cargo Ship Collision

A major US bridge has collapsed after a cargo ship collided into the structure, causing cars to fly into Baltimore’s Patapsco River with at least seven people expected to be in the water.

Chief Kevin Cartwright, director of communications for the Baltimore City Fire Department called the incident a “developing mass casualty event” saying his focus is on “trying to rescue and recover these people”.
