After a deficit southwest monsoon season, reports emerged that the first post-monsoon cyclone this year is brewing over the Arabian Sea. Weather models have forecast that a low-pressure area could form in the Arabian Sea. This low pressure may eventually cause the first post-monsoon cyclone. The weather agency said that a cyclonic circulation is marked over the southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep region. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form shortly. It is expected to intensify rapidly into a depression over the east-central Arabian Sea by October 20.
