About this video

CBS reports that the next solar eclipse will be the last chance for residents of the United States to witness the event for decades to come.
On April 8, 2024, the moon will completely block out the sun over Mexico, the U.S. and Canada.
According to NASA, it will be the last solar eclipse visible from the U.S. until August of 2044.
CBS reports that the last time a total solar eclipse was visible in the U.S. was in August of 2017.
That solar eclipse was the first of its kind in almost 100 years.
While these types of eclipses occur every one to three years, they are typically only visible from
Earth's poles or from the middle of the ocean.
The 2024 full eclipse will not be visible from coast-to-coast, but it will be visible over a dozen states, including Texas, New York and Pennsylvania.
CBS reports that states not in the path of totality will still experience a partial solar eclipse.
"During totality, take a few seconds to observe the world around you. You may be able to see a 360 degree sunset. You may also be able to see some particularly bright stars or planets in the darkened sky." NASA, via CBS
