About this video

Cancer is a very serious disease. The main characteristic of oncological diseases is the rapid, chaotic and uncontrolled development of cells.

Cancer disorders result from changes in the structure of genes (so-called oncogenes). The causes of changes in genes can be various mutations.

The main factors that can affect the development of a mutation are radiation, sunlight, viruses, natural and synthetic substances.

The body knows how to deal with oncogenes. To fight cancer cells, our body generates anti-oncogenes. So it turns out that in order to fight each oncogene, there must be its own anti-oncogene. If certain oncogenes lack an anti-oncogene, then there is a risk of cancer.

A strong immune system can fight early forms of cancer by destroying cancer cells at the expense of certain white blood cells (phagocytes). In people with reduced immunity (such as AIDS), the ability to fight cancer cells, as well as infections, is much lower.

Malignant tumors are characterized by uncontrolled development of cancer cells, while benign tumors have a limited development pattern.

The process of cancer development is long-term. Cancer cells can migrate to other organs creating metastases.

Carcinogenesis is the process of transformation of healthy cells into cancerous ones. These changes are initiated by mutations and anomalies.

Metastases are formed as a result of the migration of cancer cells from the site of the tumor to other organs. Most often, cancer cells migrate through the lymphatic system, but they can also migrate through the cardiovascular system.
