Mumbai Indians' dream of reaching the IPL 2021 playoffs was shattered, with Kolkata Knight Riders becoming the fourth team to reach the playoffs this season. This season, under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings made it to the playoffs, while Delhi Capitals became the second team to do so. After this, RCB, captained by Virat Kohli, made it to the playoffs and in the end, KKR did this wonders, the five-time champions could not even qualify for the playoffs this time.


आइपीएल 2021 के प्लेआफ में पहुंचने का मुंबई इंडियंस का सपना टूट गया, इसके साथ ही कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स इस सीजन में प्लेआफ में पहुंचने वाली चौथी टीम बन गई। इस सीजन में सबसे पहले एम एस धौनी की कप्तानी में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स ने प्लेआफ में जगह बनाई थी तो वहीं दिल्ली कैपिटल्स ऐसा करने वाली दूसरी टीम बनी थी। इसके बाद विराट कोहली की कप्तानी वाली आरसीबी ने प्लेआफ में जगह बनाई और सबसे अंत में केकेआर ने ये कमाल किया, पांच बार की चैंपियन इस बार प्लेऑफ के लिए भी क्वालीफाई नहीं कर पाई ।
