PM Modi launches e-RUPI digital payment solution

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched e-RUPI, a person and purpose-specific digital payment solution, on August 2 via video conferencing. e-RUPI is a QR code or SMS string-based e-Voucher, which is delivered to the mobile of the beneficiaries. It is a contactless and cashless instrument for digital payment. “Digital India has been a vehicle for convenience and empowerment of common citizens,” said PM Modi.
