Hello friends, Welcome to my channel mathstips4u.
In this video we are going to learn what is meant by Logical connectives, symbols used and terms used to describe compound statements.

Watch the video till ends. At end I shall provide you the answers of questions which were asked in the last video.
In Mathematical Logic there are five Logical connectives viz.
And, or, not, If …Then, …If and only if…
These words or group of words are used to join two simple statements to make a compound statements.
Sr. No. Connectives Symbols Term used To describe
1 and Ʌ Conjunction
2 or V Disjunction
3 not ~ Negation
4 If…Then → or => Implication or Conditional
5 ….if and only if … ↔ or
Double implication or Bi-conditional

In the last video I asked you to write which of the following sentences are statements in logic. In case of statements, write down the truth value. Answers are here.
Today is Saturday. Not a statement. An open sentence.
Work hard. Not a statement. An imperative sentence
Moon is a satellite. T
He likes coffee. Not a statement. An open sentence.
