Family of Victims Criticizes Juvenile Law's Protection for Rapists

Once again the law is about to offer an escape route to rapists after having ruined the victim's life , purely because the alleged rapists are all under 18 and therefore come under the Juvenile Justice Act. The family of the victim who is herself a minor are outraged. The Guwahati Court sent 5 minor boys accused of raping a 12-year-old girl, to 3-days in Remand Home. The decision has caused anguish to the family of the victim as the minors are not being treated as adult rape accused are. The family of the victim is questioning the logic of the law that treats the 5 minor rapists with 'kid gloves', while the victim's life is nearly destroyed
