What is Psychogenealogy?

Psychogenealogy is a technique that allows us to discover our inner loyalties that are interfering with our goals and dreams. This concept was put forth in 1980 by Psychoanalyst Anne Ancelin Schützenberger. Our inner loyalties are part of the unconscious process, as such, we do not know where or what exactly is blocking us from achieving our goal.
The psychogenealogist asks for the family tree to find the root cause. After adding the psychological and emotional aspects to the family tree, we can trace the invisible loyalties into the conscious mind and heal them. According to one of the premises, the mental block is transmitted from generation to generation unconsciously and affects the person to achieve their goals.
However, it is safe to assume that psycho-genealogy is based on deductions rather than objective rationality. And there exists the risk of bringing back dark memories from the past. Some are delighted by the success of this method...and others not so much!
