Pitru Paksh: Know the Importance & Need of doing Shradh for ancestors. Pitru paksha is the ideal time designated by the Hindu Shastras to offer Tarpan (oblations) to the departed ancestors in a family. The offerings made as appropriate as prescribed in the Shastras are believed to appease them and win their blessings for the family. In India, offering worship to the Pitrus is done most famously in some famous pilgrim centers.

जानें क्यों जरूरी है पितरों का श्राद्ध करना? पितरों के लिए श्रद्धा से किए गए मुक्ति कर्म को श्राद्ध कहते हैं तथा तृप्त करने की क्रिया और देवताओं, ऋषियों या पितरों को तंडुल या तिल मिश्रित जल अर्पित करने की क्रिया को तर्पण कहते हैं। तर्पण करना ही पिंडदान करना है।
