Lord Narasimha is the fourth avatar of Lord Maha Vishnu. This avatar was taken to destroy the demon King Hiranyakashyapu and rescue his devotee Prahalada. The story says that Hiranyakashyapu was the King of Asuras and loathed the Devas. He considered Lord Maha Vishnu to be his greatest enemy, as the Lord helped the Devas against the tyranny of the Asuras.


वैशाख महीने के शुक्ल पक्ष की चतुर्दशी को नृसिंह जयंती व्रत किया जाता है। वर्ष 2018 में यह व्रत 28 अप्रैल, शनिवार को मनाया जा रहा है। पुराणों के अनुसार इस पावन दिवस को भक्त प्रह्लाद की रक्षा करने के लिए भगवान विष्णु ने नृसिंह रूप में अवतार धारण किया था। इसी वजह से यह दिन भगवान नृसिंह के जयंती रूप में बड़े ही धूमधाम के साथ मनाया जाता है। आइए जानें नृसिंह जयंती के दिन क्या करें
