Uberman Ultra Triathlon: The World's Toughest Race 🏅

Beyond the ultra is the uber. A race unlike any other. Surpassing the extreme into the realm of the seemingly impossible. This is the Uberman. A 556-mile nonstop triathlon across Southern California, considered one of the world's hardest endurance races, where the physical challenge is only surpassed by the mental strength required.

It starts with a 21-mile swim in the Pacific Ocean from Catalina Island to the shores of Palos Verdes. A 400 mile bike ride that climbs over 20,000 feet through the mountains, before descending deep into the heart of the California desert at Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America. From there, athletes run 135 miles across the scorching heat of Death Valley and then ascend over 8,000 feet above sea level to the finish line at Mount Whitney portal.

In 2019, the impossible was redefined when Adam Scully-Power, an investment executive, husband and father of four, completed the epic event, beating the previous course record by an impressive 41 hours, to be crowned this year’s Uberman.

This effort was only made possible with the help of an amazing support crew, led by his brother Lincoln and long time friend John Bartlett. Joining them was Rob DeCou, Alex Nemet and Vince Noonan.

Not all of us have the desire to do ultra distance events. What’s important is to realize the enormous untapped reservoir of human potential that resides within each of us, to take on new challenges, to overcome difficult odds and to achieve so much more than we think we can.

While the outcome will never be certain and the process certainly difficult, the journey is forever rewarding. Never stop searching for the other side of your limits.
