About this video
Etihad Airways has just launched its brand-new A321LR with First Class, and I was one of the very first passengers in the world to try it. This is perhaps the most exclusive First Class cabin in the skies – just TWO seats at the very front of the aircraft.
In this trip report, I take you inside the First Class lounge in Abu Dhabi, enjoy Etihad’s signature pre-flight spa treatment, and then settle into the A321LR First Class suite on a 6-hour flight to Phuket. From caviar service and fine dining at 35,000 feet to Armani amenity kits and bespoke service, you’ll see why this product is unlike anything else in the narrow-body market.
How much does it cost?
Etihad A321LR Business Class fares start at around £2,400 return from London to Phuket (approx. $3,100 USD). First Class is just £400 ($520 USD) more each way (and it's usually priced cheaper than the rest of the fleet too) – making it one of the best-value First Class upgrades in the world right now.
What makes this product special?
From access to Etihad’s stunning First Class lounge in Abu Dhabi to private buggy transfers to the aircraft. Dedicated First Class crew and elevated dining experience including full caviar service and fine wines, including La Grande Dame by Veuve Clicquot.
There's the usual Armani amenity kits, pyjamas and ESPA skincare and a new IFE system and WiFi available and as for the seat there's privacy thanks to closing doors and luxury with a turndown service.
This might not be the most ornate First Class seat in the world, but it’s the details, service and exclusivity that make Etihad’s A321LR First Class stand out.
Watch the full flight review to see if this is the world’s best narrow-body First Class – and whether it’s worth paying that little bit extra.
