🍗 Green Onion Salt Chicken Paella (Japanese-Style Rice Skillet) (Serves 1-2)

🌸Ingredients
Chicken thigh: 250g
Green onion (negi): 1 stalk, finely chopped
Rice (uncooked): 1 cup
Butter: as needed

🌸Ingredients (Seasoning)
Water: 250 ml
Salt & pepper: to taste
Shiro dashi (Japanese soup base): 2 tbsp
Grated garlic: about 3 cm from a tube

🌸Toppings
Green onion (finely sliced): as desired
White sesame seeds: as desired
Butter: optional

🌸Instructions
1.Melt a little butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the chicken thigh skin-side down and cook until the skin becomes golden and crispy.

2.Flip the chicken. Add the chopped green onion and uncooked rice to the pan, and stir briefly.

3.Pour in the water, salt, shiro dashi, and grated garlic. Stir lightly and bring to a boil.

4.Once boiling, cover with a lid and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes.

5.Turn off the heat and finish with green onion, white sesame seeds, and optional butter on top.

🌸Note
The amount of water may vary depending on the type of rice used.
If needed, add a little more water while cooking.
You can also cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces before cooking.
