About this video
Sudan is one of the world’s most war-torn countries - in the 69 years since it gained independence, at least 59 of them have been marred by conflict. The latest round of fighting is between rival warlords: General Burhan, who leads the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, otherwise known as Hemedti, who heads the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The war has sparked what the International Rescue Committee has called the largest humanitarian crisis on record, and yet has attracted little attention internationally. Why did the fighting break out, has the war reached a turning point, and will Sudan ever see peace? Allow Battle Board to explain.
