Why does this scifi upside-down flying train only exist in one German city? Why not everywhere?
The Wuppertal Schwebebahn is a remarkable invention from the 1800s, designed by Eugen Langen. And I was lucky enough to get to ride it while I was there. But why does it exist? Why did they make a floating train, instead of a normal one or a monorail or an underground metro? What makes Wuppertal the perfect place to use this flying train invention? And why didn't it spread around the world?
