Why Does Alastor Constantly Interrupt Songs in Hazbin Hotel? 🎶

Did you notice this in hazbin hotel?

During season 1 alastor is unique in that he never has a solo song nor does he start one, he always interrupts someone elses. Why does he do this? Let me explain.

So throughout season 1 in every song alastor joins in.

In stayed gone he hijacks the song from vox

In hell’s greatest dad he cuts lucifer off

In ready for this he and rosie join in.

And of course in the finale he has his crash out.

I think there’s a couple explanations.

Firstly alastor sung his own song in the pilot, but was interrupted by sir pentious. Him doing it to others could be a reference to this.

My favourite explanation though is that it ties to his role in the show. During the finale his part of the song is completely different, with a sombre tone. He’s injured and alone, his mask slips and we get a glimpse of his hidden motives. The song only picks up when he composes himself, gloating about how he’ll pull all the strings.

It’s a deliberate choice, and i think it’ll be a huge moment when alastor starts and finishes his own song in season 2.
