Discover the main reasons behind tooth sensitivity to cold, including root exposure, gum disease, and dental restorations. Learn how Soundview Family Dental can help you find relief.
About this video
The most common cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. This can come from recession or gum disease. Other causes can be ill-fitting crowns or restorations. Also by new teeth because they have larger nerves. If you do have exposed roots then the best way to desensitize them is to have a fluoride treatment (available at your dentist’s office), or desensitizing toothpaste.
