Where to Focus in Landscape Photography

Picking the right spot to focus on in landscape photography is crucial if you want images that appear sharp from front to back.

In scenes where you're very close to the foreground and far from the background, a focus stack is the best way to get everything in focus, but it is still possible to obtain a high level of sharpness across the whole image in a single shot.

The best place to focus for maximum image sharpness is generally in the midground. Focus on something in your scene that lies between the closest foreground element and the furthest background element. Additionally, an aperture like f/13 will yield more in-focus in the frame.
