What happens when someone dies from alcoholism? In this video, I break down the stages of liver failure due to alcohol and what it looks like in hospice care. While not all liver failure is caused by alcoholism, many patients I see experience jaundice, ascites, confusion, agitation, and bleeding as their liver stops functioning. I also discuss how we manage symptoms like pain and discomfort in end-of-life care.
