Understanding Process Control Plans: A Step-by-Step PCBA Example 🛠️

A process control plan is an overview of all the controls in place along with the process steps, usually in a manufacturing facility.

This document has a relatively consistent format, so although this example focuses on a PCBA production process, it's quite relevant for most product types.

'Controls' can vary, but they will typically be actions such as:
- Every product goes through a metal detector to screen for unwanted metal parts that could cause a hazard.
- An inspector scans a barcode of products at the end of the line to assure that they're correct.

Regardless of the controls that you decide to use, the idea of the process control plan is to make the whole system visible and to remind people to focus on the critical steps.
