What Is A Man-in-the-Middle Attack?

A man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack is a type of cyber attack in which an attacker intercepts communication between two parties who believe they are communicating directly with each other.
The attacker positions themselves between the two parties and can eavesdrop on their communication, modify the content of their messages, or even impersonate one or both parties to send false information.
