Real-life Atlantis.
Without the Mediterranean's moderating effect, temperatures across southern Europe and North
Africa would skyrocket in summer, freezing over in winter. Rome would feel like a sauna, and
snowy winters would become the new norm!
Weather patterns would be total chaos, the climate of entire continents would shift, changing
everything from rainforests to deserts.
And without the sea, what’s left behind? Salt! MOUNTAINS of it! Enough to turn the entire
region into a glittering white wasteland.
Not to mention, millions would lose their water source and livelihoods. This wouldn't just be a
geological wonder; it’d be a humanitarian disaster!
