What happened to King David? Well, David is often remembered as the shepherd boy who killed Goliath. But he was also a mighty warrior. He was also Israel's second king. And he was a great poet and writer, musician, and worship leader. But he wasn't a perfect man. In fact, the Bible recounts some of his moral failures as well. He committed adultery. He conspired for murder. He even had a dysfunctional family with his own son, Absalom, trying to seek to overthrow him, take over his kingdom. He had sort of a life with its ups and downs. But throughout it all, we see by the end of his life, he ends faithful. In First Chronicles chapter 29, it says that David died at a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor. His final moments show where his heart was. He had a heart for two things, the temple of God that he wanted to see completed, and he also had a heart for his son, Solomon, that he would be equipped and ready to rule the kingdom.
