About this video
Wentworth Woodhouse in Rotherham, England, is not only the largest house in the UK, but also the longest house in Europe. This phenomenal English country house is the ancestral home of the Earls of Strafford and comprises three houses with very distinct architectural styles.
At the core of this very stately home is the original Jacobean house. The Baroque west front was constructed from 1725 by the Marquis of Rockingham, but before the paint was even dry, in 1735 he embarked on the epic construction of the Palladian east front. When completed, this was considered one of the first great Palladian houses in England.
