Gillibrand Calls for Cuomo to Resign Amid Allegations

New York Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer have called on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to step down after eight women have come forward with sexual misconduct allegations against him. Cuomo has denied wrongdoing and has refused to step down. New York's attorney general and state assembly are each moving forward with investigations into the claims.

But Gillibrand says Cuomo will have a difficult time governing amid the scandal. "Our governor has lost the support of most of his governing partners," she said. Given where we are in the pandemic, "I think we should be focused on the important task of governing and getting these resources into the economy.
