Warning: Vulnerability Discovered in General Bytes Crypto ATMs

This week, a crypto ATM provider – General Bytes, reported an attack against their crypto ATMs that rerouted deposits to an attacker’s account.

The company operates a network of over 13,769 crypto ATMs with locations in more than 143 countries. The attackers took advantage of a zero-day vulnerability in the administration interface of the crypto ATMs and reroute crypto from the ATMs directly to their accounts.

This hack shows that cryptocurrency hacks are not limited to things like exposed private keys, and can be on physical devices like ATMs. Because of this, you should do research before adding crypto to your digital preparedness.
