Oh nostalgia... Swedish TV-series "Vi på Saltkråkan" (Seacrow Island) aired for the first time in 1964. But countless reruns have made it childhood memories for generations. Eternal summer, fun and adventure, and unforgettable characters. The children, the dog, and the otherworldly beautiful Malin – every little Scandinavian boy's first crush. Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve were nothing in comparison.

By the 60's and 70's contemporary classical music had made its way into children's TV, exposing kids to music really out of the ordinary. I'm forever grateful for this! Ulf Björlin's wonderful Saltkråkan-music is strange and quirky, yet it somehow fits perfectly to the idyllic atmosphere of holiday on the island. The intro is a canon (originally played on two flutes), dissonant and ametrical, lively and slightly crazy, creating an expectation of fun and adventure for the episode.
