VAN LIFE w/ 2 Cats: How do we leave them alone in the van

After 1+ year on the road, we have learnt a thing or 2 about how and when we can leave the cats alone in the van for a whole day. PS: We would NEVER put the cats in any danger. Their safety is our number one concern

• We start by choosing a day that is not too hot to leave them alone. We always check the forecast to book any tours and if the temperature is supposed to get over 30C, we pick another day;

• We then find a shady spot to leave the van parked for the day; (our van is fully insulated and not like a regular vehicle)

• We turn all of the fans on - We have 2 Maxxair fans that blow in and out and 1 side window that we leave open for them. When the fans are turned on, it creates an amazing wind tunnel.

• We make sure to leave them with plenty of water and with their kitty litter box open;

• We also have a pet temperature monitor and we can check on an app the exact temperature inside the van;
