The people were moving away <br />Leaving their homes <br />For in this desert <br />The chances of life <br />Were doubtful <br />And this year <br />There was a drought <br />And the desert <br />Which was already thirsty <br />Could not show <br />Even the remote possibility <br />For the few residents <br />This is the low of Nature <br />If a man is not fruitful <br />To others <br />They leave him <br />For his doom <br />Only a useful person <br />Is valued by others <br />After all <br />The world runs on work <br />Idleness is living death <br />A man with no good <br />Character traits <br />Is ignored by the world <br />But when this bitter truth <br />Is applied <br />On the old parents <br />It hurts still more <br />They cannot be compared <br />From the desert <br />For, they are the valuable <br />Precious treasures <br />Who keep their loving <br />Blessings on their children<br /><br />V P Mahur<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/deserted-desert/
