About this video
Lyon in 1 day!!
We also visited the Gallo-Roman theaters which is over 2000 years old but I was too exhausted to take any videos đ
If you are a pastry lover, Start your day at the artisan boulanger patissery. I recommend the tarte a la praline and bunuelos de carnaval.
Now, take bus to Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste, it is a Grand medieval cathedral with an astronomical clock & stained-glass windows, the church itself is situated in a beautiful square. You can easy spend hours storlling here.
Grab a glass of local wine. Lyon is called the tuscany of france for a reason, they are famous for their burgundy wines!
Basilique Notre Dame â you will walk over 800 steps to reach there. You can also take a lift, but whereâs the fun in that?
The basilica is a tribute to the Virgin Mary and was built in the early 1870s
The intricate mosaic work on the walls, floor and ceiling, the almost gothic architecture, the eerie calm, the gigantic pipe organ makes this the most breathtaking church I have ever seen! The basilica also has a crypt dedicated to Saint Joseph Which I have never seen before.
The panoramic view of the city from here makes up for all that walking. Pure bliss!
A bouchon is a type of restaurant found in Lyon, France, that serves traditional Lyonnaise cuisine, I recommend the Les Layonnese Bouchon on the way out!
A 10 minute walk from here will take you to the Gallo-Roman theator, a spectacular amphitheator built over 2000 years ago!
By now you will be ready for an evening refreshment, stroll by the banks of the river, take a seat outside 1 of the many cute cafĂ©âs and sip on lyonnese wine while making friends with the people next to you!
Finally catch the sunset at the confluence. This is the meeting point of the 2 rivers, Rhonne and Sone. The city itself is biuilt around these rivers. You can watch the water from the 2 rivers mix right in from of your eyes. This. took. My breath away.
Now there is so much more to see and experience in Lyon, but if youâve just got 1 day to spare, save this reel, and send it to your travel buddy.
