The U.S. commended UN envoy de Mura and the MINURSO mission for their vital roles, urging all parties to pursue peace based on Morocco’s “credible and realistic” proposal.
The UN Security Council is set to vote on a resolution backing Morocco’s autonomy plan for Western Sahara, a disputed region long contested by Rabat and the Polisario Front.
The meeting also includes remarks from Morocco’s UN Ambassador Omar Hilale, and representatives of South Africa and Frente POLISARIO.
