About this video
It’s not just about the rules, it’s about why the rules matter. In this clip, Sergeant Major of the Army Mike Weimer explains the importance of understanding the “why” behind AR 670-1 and the Army’s new directive on grooming and appearance standards.
Host, Fran Racioppi was joined by SGM Laurin Nabors and SGM Alex Kupratty, they highlight how compliance alone isn’t enough; it’s the commitment to standards that creates trust, discipline, and a culture of professionalism across the Army. From the seasoned veterans of the 75th Ranger Regiment to the newest privates, the message is the same: standards define what it means to be a Soldier.
