Prime numbers make the encryption process secure because they are hard to factorize. For creating keys, two large prime numbers are used. The public key (for encryption) is easily shared, but decrypting requires a private key, which is calculated using these prime numbers. Without knowing the original prime numbers (the private key), decrypting the message is nearly impossible.
For example, let's take two prime numbers: 17 and 19. Their product is 323. The public key includes this number (323) and is used for encryption. To decrypt the message, a private key is needed, which is calculated from the original prime numbers (17 and 19). Without knowing these numbers, decrypting the message is impossible because it's hard to factor 323 back into 17 and 19.
