Unicef spokesperson James Elder said on Friday that "a child is killed, on average, every single day" in Gaza since a ceasefire was announced in October 2025.
Elder stressed that the children who have been killed since the ceasefire was declared "were not killed in war zones", noting that these children were killed in their schools and public spaces, including while playing football or fishing.
According to Unicef, more than 400 children have also been injured since October.
