I feel we struggle, people like me, we struggle. Cuz we are constantly stuck in between. While we love places like Nagaland, we also can't fathom how people live all their lives there. We love the peace, the slowness of life, the routine for a few days and soon the silences become deafening, the slow pace of life seems stressful, the regularity seems painful. And it's time to move on. Maybe that's why I love traveling so much. Places let me leave and still welcome me back with a whole heart when I'm ready to come back. It lets me shuttle between tradition and modernity because I need a break from both sometimes. It's easier to be the outsider sometimes than being in there. To see everything from a lens and not actually be ingrained in them. It might seem escapist to a few, but I genuinely feel that's the biggest reason I travel. And the reason I keep coming back to the beautiful state of Nagaland.
