The US Justice Department announced criminal indictments against two Chinese hackers on December 20, accusing them of sustained efforts to break into government and corporate networks in the United States and 11 other countries.
The defendants, Zhu Hua and Zhang Shilong, were described as acting on behalf of Chinaโs Ministry of State Security to steal intellectual property and trade secrets.
The US claims China has engaged in massive hacking efforts which violate terms of bilateral agreements reached in late 2015.
