We spent two days in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia and one of the most underrated cities in the Mediterranean. This video shows what the city feels like in 2025, from its maze-like medina to its colonial boulevards, ancient ruins, and its nearby blue and white hill town. It is an easy place to explore, affordable, and full of places that most visitors miss.
You’ll see the Central Market of Tunis, Bab el Bhar, the old medina with its colourful doors, and El Ali. We also show Madrasa Slimania, Zitouna Mosque, the Kasbah monument, Avenue Habib Bourguiba, the Tunis Clock Tower, the Municipal Theatre, and the Cathédrale Saint-Vincent-de-Paul. There is also a look at the city’s growing street art scene and places to try Tunisian food like seafood, couscous, and spots such as Tonton Ville and Restaurant Sfax.
Day two takes us to Cafe Panorama for rooftop views over the medina, followed by a visit to ancient Carthage. The video covers Byrsa Hill, Quartier Punique de Byrsa, the Saint Louis Cathedral, the Punic Ports of Carthage, the Roman Villas District, the Theatre of Carthage, the Ancient Amphitheatre of Carthage, and the Baths of Antoninus. We talk about what it is like to get around, how much tickets cost, and how spread out the sites are.
After the ruins we head to Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia’s famous blue and white village on the cliffs. You’ll see its streets, viewpoints, small shops, and local snacks like bambalouni. We also visit Café des Délices and the Dar El Annabi Museum to show what the area offers beyond photos.
The video also includes practical travel notes about taxis in Tunis, airport prices, and why you should keep your currency exchange receipt. We share where we stayed in the city near Avenue Habib Bourguiba and Bab el Bhar, plus why staying in Sidi Bou Saïd is a good option if you want a calmer base.
After Tunis, we spent four days in Libya exploring Tripoli, Leptis Magna, Sabratha, Berber grain banks, underground homes and more. You can watch that journey right after this one.
