Tsar Bomba, also known as the "King of Bombs," was the largest nuclear bomb ever detonated. It was developed by the Soviet Union and tested on October 30, 1961, over the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. Tsar Bomba had a yield of approximately 50 megatons of TNT, making it the most powerful nuclear weapon ever created.

The bomb was so immense that its shockwave circled the Earth three times, and the mushroom cloud it created reached a height of nearly 40 miles (64 kilometers). The explosion caused widespread damage to buildings and structures within a large radius.

Tsar Bomba's test served as a chilling reminder of the destructive capabilities of nuclear weapons during the Cold War era. Due to its unprecedented power and the potential global ramifications of such a weapon, both the United States and the Soviet Union later agreed to limit the size of their nuclear arsenals through arms control treaties.
