Treis Ekklisies Village in Crete 🌅

Treis Ekklisies is a small coastal village in the area of Asterousia mountains and is located in the end of Abas gorge, 58 km southern of Heraklion.
Driving to Treis Ekklisies is an amazing experience, because the road at the final part has many turns and stunning view as it descends from Asterousia mountains high above the sea level to the coast.
Behind the village are impressive rocks with Abas waterfall, which can be observed mainly in the winter.
Treis Ekklisies mean three churches and village took it s name from the three churches of the Byzantine period that are there.
Nowadays, you can find in the village several villas/apartments for rent, few tavernas, cafe and minimarket. The surrounding coast offers pebbly beaches with rocky cliffs by sides.
