Hugh Jackmanβs muscle gain was the result of a specific workout plan from David Kingsbury, who broke the actorβs regimen into two phases: bulk and cut. During the bulk phase, Kingsbury calculated calories to give Jackman the leanest possible muscle gain. Kingsbury also employed a combination of low-intensity training and intervals in order to keep body fat levels down. During the cut phase, Kingsbury kept the weight training consistent, but adjusted caloric consumption and the amount of cardio Jackman was performing. Again, the end goal was to build strength without going overboard in terms of body fat.
Frank Grillo grew up in New York, the son of an Italian immigrant and the eldest of 3 boys. He wrestled in high school and started boxing in his twenties. Grillo received a business degree from NYU and worked on Wall Street for a year before scoring a gig in tv commercials. He went on to appear in the soap opera Guiding Light and other tv shows including Battery Park, The Shield, and Prison Break. Grillo is now 55, but his body could easily pass for 30. He carries just 5% body fat.
