An eight-year-old boy died after being hit by his neighbour’s car just yards from his front door in Yorkshire, an inquest has been told. <br />Joshua Spence was returning home after visiting a friend when he was struck by a Land Rover Discovery driven by his neighbour in Somerset Close, Catterick, on September 5, 2023. <br />At an inquest held at Northallerton Coroner’s Court on Tuesday (Apr 29), his mother, Kirsty Slater, paid an emotional tribute to her son, describing their bond and the “sunshine” he brought into her life.
