Reviewing the best Android launchers and setups for 2026, including customisable alternatives to Nova and minimalist options like Niagara. Here's my top favourite launchers for your Android phone (free and Pro), available to download from Play Store.

Nova was one of my best picks for years, but now it's out of support, sad face. One of the better alternatives in 2026 is Smart Launcher. You can setup your smartphone UI exactly how you like, from the desktops and apps tray to the icons and notifications. Otherwise, Octopi, Lawnchair and Stario are also well worth a try.

However, if you prefer a minimalist setup with ease of use in mind, one of the top Android launcher choices is still Niagara. This can help to prevent distractions and keep you focused on what matters, plus it looks bloody nice.
Yasan is still in 'early access', with a streamlined approach similar to Niagara, while KISS has been around for years.
