About this video
Traveling with a 1 year old tips!👇🏻
Here’s the thing, travel from newborn-5/6mo was a breeze. All they do is breastfeed and sleep. Butttt as soon as they get more mobile and want to be ON THE MOVE, and are stuck in a seat for hours instead, you’ve gotta get creative! Here’s just a few things I’ve found helpful at this stage!
Comment TRAVEL! if you want the direct link to my baby travel musts!
1️⃣pack a good handful of toys/a couple books. 1-2 light up ones too + a new one they’ve never seen. The spinners are amazing. So is painters tape. For not just travel but once at your destination to cover up electric outlets!
2️⃣i always pack two sippy cups (or his sippy cup + bottle of water), so in case he’s over one, I can still get him to drink on take off and landing to clear his ears. When I was BFing I would just BF instead! Snacks can do it too - anything to get them to swallow.
3️⃣ALL THE SNACKS. I pack some cut up grapes, berries, banana with PB, organic pouches, and then puffs/freeze dried dried fruit! This IS the life saver once they’re over that 6mo mark, especially over a year
4️⃣carrier! If it’s nap time, we keep him in this and he always sleeps MUCH better when in that on us vs just trying to get him to fall asleep in a weird angle on us. We’ve never been asked to take him out of it!
5️⃣this is non-age specific, but if you have tight connections, check the stroller/doona right away vs gate checking, because when you gate check you have to wait after flight to get it and sometimes it can be 15min.
Other things not in video:
*️⃣if you can get the bulkhead seats (seats with wall in front of you vs seats), do it!! Not having to worry about him reaching through the seats and touching others is nice hah
*️⃣the doona stroller/car seat literally was the BEST his first year of life and we even squeeze him in it now - car seat and stroller in one - well worth the investment!
*️⃣all trip necessities: travel sound machine, sleep sack, anything they sleep with, and we honestly just usually use the pack n play/ crib hotel provides - but if they don’t provide one - make sure to pack one! And I’d pack your own sheets no matter!
See highlight on all musts!🤍
